A Fresh Take on Modern Romance at The Nook in De Pere

When I was invited to design the wedding tablescape for a styled shoot at The Nook Micro Venue, De Pere’s newest intimate event venue, I couldn’t wait to bring a touch of refined romance to the space. The shoot organizer shared a few inspiration photos, and from there, I ran with the concept, creating a look that felt both timeless and modern, soft and bold.

For the layout, we combined three round guest tables into one long, flowing tablescape alongside a separate sweetheart table, the perfect setup for an intimate wedding or dinner party. I chose white satin tablecloths as the base, layering in printed green floral napkins to add subtle texture and pattern. Each place setting featured white stoneware dinner plates topped with sage green salad plates, striking that ideal balance between fresh and elegant.

To add depth and contrast, I tied in black candle holders and candelabras with black flatware, giving the entire table a slightly moody edge. Fresh fruit was woven throughout the design, complementing the white and green florals provided by Roots on 9th and giving the tablescape a lush, organic feel. The details continued with custom menus and place cards by Diny Design Co, whose delicate paper goods added a touch of polish.

The sweetheart table was a true showstopper, filled with an abundance of crystal candle holders, glowing white tapers, and a cascading white floral piece from Roots on 9th that added just the right amount of drama.

It was such a joy to be part of this shoot and to see The Nook in action. The space is absolutely stunning, thoughtfully designed with a modern, luxe aesthetic that’s perfect for intimate weddings of 40 guests or fewer, as well as bridal showers, birthdays, holiday parties, and other private events. Every detail, from the architectural finishes to the cozy yet elevated atmosphere, shows just how much care went into creating a venue that feels both stylish and personal.
